The reason the asbestos article jumped out at me, well actually there're two reasons. First, like I mentioned in the previous post, I know people who've died of lung cancer, and I just feel that the link between asbestos and the risk of lung cancer is such that I don't really doubt that there's a connection there. The other thing is my attic. To put it simply, I hardly have any idea what's up there.
I mean, that's the problem with attics for me really. Out of sight, out of mind. I guess that over the years, I've pretty much convinced myself that everything up there's alright, so I don't have to crawl up there to take a look around. And since there really hasn't been any pressing need to climb up, I've avoided it like the plague. It probably also doesn't help that sometimes I hear something bumping around up there. Or was it more of a slithering sound? Or sometimes I hear multiple bumping noises all going on at the same time. Like I said, I've been trying not to think about it.
